Hello Tumblr + Chronicle books. This gallery shows sample pages, including a front and back cover, of our proposed book, Activitorium. The back cover contains a synopsis as well as critical quotes and the last page contains some information about The Tangential. We would be honored if you would consider us as we are big fans of what both of you do for publishing.
We’d like to thank our designer Caroline Royce for creating the identity for this whole book pitch. The content was created by Becky Lang and Katie Sisneros, with additional fun ideas from Sarah Heuer and Crispin Best, as well as input from our entire staff. We would plan to put our whole staff to work creating original content for the entire book, and continue working with Caroline for design. We are also open to the idea of collaboration with editors and designers outside our collective.

My favorite song right now
A short ode to one of my favorite books about Florida
I had torn through all the Little House on the Prairie books and I was looking for something more hardcore. “Strawberry Girl” was a natural option because it’s the most hardcore thing I’ve ever read, to this day. It’s about a girl and her family in the Florida backwoods and the foreword from the author seriously says:
“My material has been gathered personally from the Crackers themselves, and from other Floridians who know and understand them. I have visited in Cracker homes. I have made many sketches of people, animals, the natural surroundings, their homes-plans, furnishings and details.”
Rereading it today. Hilarious
When I was 16, part 1 of an endless series
When I was 16, I briefly wanted to go to massage therapy school because my boyfriend was like, “My back hurts,” and I tried to give him a back massage but ended up just nervously squeezing his shoulders a few times. I thought maybe if I went to school for massage therapy, I’d be able to give people killer massages whenever.
I told my boyfriend that and he said, “Wait, don’t you wanna go to college?”
I said, “Isn’t massage therapy school a little bit more useful than college?”
I was completely correct then and I have regrets about not following that gut instinct
